Tikveš Winery completes all payments towards grape growers and invests EUR 720,000 in new vineyards amid the crisis
Tikveš Winery completed all payments to its associated grape growers for the grape quantities purchased in 2019. The payments have been issued to all grape growers – individuals and legal subjects, in accordance with the planned payment schedule and the legally prescribed deadlines. The winery has purchased a total of 22 million kilograms of grapes.
Furthermore, amid the global crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has resulted in more than 70% drop of wine sales, Tikveš Winery has continued its investments. The winery has invested EUR 720,000 of its own funds into erecting new vineyards at the micro-location of Babuna near Veles. It has planted 38 hectares of vines of the varieties Vranec, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Gris, Colombard, Žilavka, and Malvasia. These are modern vineyards that will contribute to extending the production potential for new high quality wines.
