Tikveš joins group of world-leading wineries in combating climate change
Tikveš Winery has become a member of the International Wineries for Climate Action group (IWCA), joining 40 leading wineries from 10 countries across five continents. All members are influential wineries in their regions, leaders in environmental and natural resource protection activities, and adopt a science-based approach to reducing carbon emissions and their impact on climate change.
IWCA is a partner of the United Nations and includes some of the world’s largest and most renowned wineries, such as Torres, Constellation Brands, and Gloria Ferrer. By joining this organization, wineries commit to actively working to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions until reaching the global goal of zero carbon emissions by 2050 at the latest.
IWCA publicly welcomed Tikveš into the organization, particularly highlighting the Macedonian winery’s previous commitment and leadership in implementing climate change mitigation activities. Alongside Tikveš, two renowned American wineries—Opus One Winery and Ste. Michelle Wine Estates—also joined the organization.
