The special 2020 will be remembered by the many challenges that came along with the Covid -19 pandemic, which we all as individuals, companies and economies faced during the year.
Fortunately, Tikveš winery has no lack of good reasons for remembering 2020, because our wines triumphed at the most prestigious wine competitions around the world. In fact, during the uniquely challenging 2020, Tikveš achieved the biggest success so far, doubling the number of awards in comparison with the previous years.

Our wines won 130 awards, counting 111 medals, 16 aknowledgements and 3 special awards. Among the 111 medals, even 36 were gold from which 3 were double gold won for „Terrasse à l’Ombre 2018“, „Vranec Special Selection 2017“ and „Barovo red 2017“. We are especially proud of the special awards “Best of indigenous red variety trophy” for “Barovo red 2017” and the jury prize “Best wine from the country” for “Domaine Lepovo Chardonnay 2019“.

The big number of awards represents another confirmation for the top quality of our wines, taking into account that almost all premium wines from our portfolio, as well as the well known “Lozova Zolta” were Award winners. Nevertheless, the most awarded wines in 2020 were “Barovo red 2017” with 10 medals from which 7 gold, 1 double gold and 2 special awards and „Terrasse à l’Ombre 2018“ from the French winery “Château de Gourdon” which won 5 gold medals and 1 double gold medal.

The great success achieved in 2020, represents a stimulus for reaching even bigger heights in the many more years that follow.
