Vranec - the Black Stallion of the Balkans.
The name translates to black stallion, which reflects the grape’s dark color and powerful character with complex aromas.
Roots: Also spelled Vranac, it is indigenous to Montenegro, now a flagship red grape across Macedonia. Style spectrum: from youthful, berry bright reds to layered, savory, cellar worthy wines. Food mood: loves grills, roasts and bold cheeses, and works beautifully with richly flavored, slow cooked dishes. Blend friendly: elevates both local and international grapes in expressive cuvées.
